A Night of Comedy with World-Famous David Brenner and special musical guest Tommy Mara And The Crests
March 16, 2013 at 8PM
Richard Nader Entertainment presents legendary funny man David Brenner. Brenner made his TV debut on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1971 and became the show’s most frequent guest with 158 appearances. His side-splitting brand of comedy turns a bright spotlight on today’s social and political world, a focus that has made him a regular and familiar guest of popular news shows on MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News. A Philadelphia native, Brenner has had four enormously successful HBO Specials. His latest, "David Brenner: Back With a Vengeance," was one of HBO’s highest rated specials—among its glowing reviews The Hollywood Reporter proclaimed, “He’s edgier and more insightful in his skewering of popular culture than ever before.” This is laugh-out-loud comedy.
Special guests: Tommy Mara and The Crests (Sixteen Candles, Step by Step, Cara Mia, Summertime)
The best of friends for over a decade, Tommy Mara and Johnny Maestro spent endless hours together in their Florida recording studio. It was onstage in 2002 that Johnny Maestro turned over the scepter of The Crests to Tommy Mara, and together they sang "Sixteen Candles" to a standing ovation. Listening to Mara perform songs like Cara Mia and Summertime with his rich tenor voice, you will understand why he is hailed as the “Pavarotti of Doo Wop.”
