BREAKFAST AT PAPER MILL

Start the week off right with this lively discussion group! You'll meet new friends and celebrate the joys of theatre each week as a Paper Mill staff member or visiting guest artist leads the discussion on a unique aspect of the live theatre experience. Backstage tours and special performances highlight the sessions, and the group meets on select Mondays from September to May!

SENIOR PLAYERS WORKSHOP

(ages 18 and up)

This once-a-week seminar provides seniors with the opportunity to explore and discuss all aspects of theatre performance and production, including acting, directing, and dramatic theory. The group will select a one-act play to use in class and will work to analyze the script, develop characters, and rehearse the piece for an informal performance at the end of the session.

THE PLAYREADING CIRCLE

(ages 18 and up)

A cozy and stimulating bimonthly gathering that will read and discuss plays from the exciting range of theatrical literature. Sessions will be led by various members of the Paper Mill staff, and trips to see productions of the plays at Paper Mill and other New Jersey theatres will be scheduled, when possible, for an additional fee.

NEW! MOVEMENT FOR SENIORS

(ages 18 and up)

Using non-verbal communication, music, and movement, along with elements of mime and pantomime, this class will offer the active senior the opportunity to explore physical storytelling and improvisation in a unique way. Beginning with gentle physical activity, the things explored and performed in class will be adapted to the ability of participants.

NEW! READER's THEATRE

(ages 18 and up)

Senior reader's theatre participants create characters in scenes and monologues, concentraing on voice and emotional life without the need for memorization, props, costumes or movement. Ideal for less-mobile seniors! Class will culminate in an informal sharing.
