Most classes culminate in a performance or an informal "sharing" for family and friends on the last day of the session.

CLASS LIST
PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS
(ages 8-12)
Alex Kariotis, Aimee Willis, Jay Winston
Individual attention helps students learn breath control and vocal placement in a nurturing one-to-one environment. Exercises are used to strengthen and protect the voice, and both popular and theatre songs are rehearsed. Lessons are for one half-hour.

NEW! THE BUSINESS OF SHOW BUSINESS
(For parents of children 8-12)
Amber Watson
Find out if your child has what it takes to make it in this unique introduction to the business of the business. Specially designed for the parents of young performers, this class will introduce you to a wide variety of professionals working in casting and management. These specialists will be interviewed each week by the workshop leader and will also respond to questions from the class, sharing information on the behind the scenes aspects of the entertainment industry. Specialists who have participated in past sessions include actress Tovah Feldshuh, video/promotions manager Lee Anne Callihan, and agent Jean Fox of Fox Albert Management. Participants are subject to change based on availability.

MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP
(ages 6-12)
Laura Walsh, Kassie Lagua & Geraldine Bianco
Students will be introduced to songs in a wide variety of musical styles, which they will then learn to perform with confidence and style. The focus of the class is acting through the song, and students will develop stage presence, good vocal habits, and the ability to interpret and deliver a song to an audience.

HIP-HOP DANCE

The high-energy choreography style that sets the tone for today's music videos and popular films provides a fun means of self-expression through movement. Recreations of original video and stage choreography will be taught at the end of each session.

TAP & JAZZ
(ages 9-12)

Fundamental steps, terms, and techniques are introduced as students explore jazz and tap dance styles. Students will develop coordination and enhance rhythmic skills. Dance shoes are not required and no previous dance training is necessary.

ACTING & IMPROV
(ages 9-12)
A fun-filled introduction to theatre for the novice actor! Theatre games and improvisation exercises increase performance skills, awaken creativity, and allow students to work individually and with others to accomplish common goals. Students learn from using scripted scenes as well as by creating original pieces.

ACTING FOR THE CAMERA
(ages 9-12)

An introduction to acting for television and film, this class leads students through the commercial audition process. Videotaping allows for instructor feedback as well as the opportunity for students to view their own progress.

ALL-STAR PRODUCTION
(ages 9-12)

Students prepare two productions (holiday and spring) that tour to schools, hospitals, senior citizen residences, and other local organizations for performances. Pre-requisite: Creative Drama I. Class filled by audition only.

CREATIVE DRAMA I

Students explore theatre games and improvisation with an emphasis on building creativity, self-expression, and self-confidence. In the spring, they perform a play that incorporates skills learned and introduces basic elements of scenery and costumes.

CREATIVE DRAMA II

Self-discovery for the actor continues in scenes and songs as well as more advanced acting exercises. Students also perform a scripted play or musical, enhanced by costumes and scenery. Available only to students who have completed Creative Drama I.

STORY BOOK THEATRE I
(ages 6-8)

An absorbing theatre experience that builds reading and comprehension skills for very young actors. Students read stories as a group and then use role-playing and basic creative drama exercises to bring those stories to life. A great way for your child to make new friends and discover new ideas while developing self-confidence.

A wonderful creative experience for the more independent tots and a great introduction to the world of theatre.
