ACTING & IMPROV

(ages 13 to 17)

A complete theatre experience for teens, including theatre games, improvisation, acting, and creative drama activities. With an emphasis on building collaborative and communication skills, the class culminates in an open workshop performance with work created by the students.

18 weeks - $550

ACTING FOR THE CAMERA

(ages 13 to 17)

An introduction to acting for television and film, this class leads students through the commercial audition process. Video recording allows for instructor feedback as well as the opportunity for students to view their own progress.

BROADWAY DANCE STYLES

(ages 10-13)

This class will explore the basics to musical theatre style dance. The focus will be on technique, rhythm, and performance skills in a non-competitive environment. Students will learn original choreography as well as exercises to build strength and creativity.

CHILDREN'S THEATRE ON TOUR

(ages 13 to 17)

A touring performance class designed for teens, students will work on a scripted musical for young audiences that will be presented at community centers, hospitals, and schools. The class is filled by audition only. Completion of Junior Creative Drama I or a Paper Mill teen class is a prerequisite to audition. SOLD OUT

INTERGENERATIONAL THEATRE WORKSHOP

(ages 10 & up)

The Intergenerational Theatre Workshop will pair together youth, teens, adults and seniors in scenes from renowned theater pieces for eight weeks, leading up to an evening of presentations for friends, family, theatre professionals and talent agents.

8 weeks - $250

MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP

(ages 13 to 17)

Musical theatre performance is more than a pretty voice; it’s acting through a song. Students explore how to interpret and connect to the lyrics to tell the story in the song.  Selection of appropriate material for auditions and performance will be stressed, along with basic vocal technique and breath control. Staged musical numbers will also be introduced.

18 weeks - $575 (includes accompanist fee)

PRIVATE COACHING

(ages 13-17)

Individual coaching sessions for the actor wanting to enrich his or her personal process for plays, performance and other artistic goals.

4 weekly half-hour lessons - $200
(lesson times are scheduled on a first come, first served basis)

Thursday 30 mins. between 4:00pm - 9:00pm

PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS

(ages 13 to 17)

Individual attention helps students learn breath control and vocal placement in a nurturing one-to-one environment. Exercises are used to strengthen and protect the voice, and both popular and theatre songs are rehearsed. Lessons are for one half-hour and are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

TEEN PRODUCTION

(ages 13 to 17)

In this class the company will work on a scripted dramatic piece to explore advanced elements of performance such as establishing an emotional connection to a character, vocal variety and physicality. A performance will be presented at the end of the class demonstrating the skills and material learned.

THEATRE FOR EVERYONE AutismRibbonwhlchr p

(ages 8-13)

In collaboration with VSA-NJ, an organization which provides a wide array of arts programming for children and adults with all types of disabilities, this class will include theatre improvisation, storytelling, music, movement, and some visual art. The series will creatively address and include diverse learning styles and modes of communication.

18 weeks - $430
