CLASS LIST


ACTING & IMPROV

(ages 12 to 15)

This class is a complete theatre experience for teens that includes warm-up theatre games, improvisation, and acting exercises. With an emphasis on building collaborative and communication skills, the class culminates in an open house performance with work created by the students.

ADVANCED ACTING TECHNIQUES

(ages 14-16)

A course for serious acting students interested in developing their technique.

6 weeks - $200

Mondays 6:15pm - 7:30pm

DANCE FOR AUDITIONS

(ages 12-15)

The dance portion of an audition is just as important as the song you choose to sing. This workshop style class is designed to help each student become more comfortable when asked to dance at an audition.

6 weeks - $200

Tuesdays 7:30pm - 8:30pm

MINI SESSION SAMPLER

(ages 12-15)

Acting! Singing! Dancing! It takes all three to become a "Triple Threat"in show business today. Students work on vocal performance, acting techniques and movement while working toward a mini-showcase at the end of the session.

MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP

(ages 12-15)

Musical theatre performance is more than a pretty voice; it’s acting through a song. Students explore how to interpret and connect to the lyrics to tell the story in the song. Selection of appropriate material for auditions and performance will be stressed, along with basic vocal technique and breath control. Staged musical numbers will also be introduced.

PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS

(ages 12 to 17)

Individual attention helps students learn breath control and vocal placement in a nurturing one-to-one environment. Exercises are used to strengthen and protect the voice and both popular and theatre songs are rehearsed. Lessons are 30 minutes each.

SCENES & SONGS

(ages 12 to 15)

Students will work with scenes and songs from contemporary and classic Musical Theatre pieces. Development of characters is stressed as well as “acting through a song” to tell the story.

SKETCH COMEDY

(ages 11 to 14)

Students study various styles of comedy. After a quick introduction to joke formulas, students are shown how to write using their own experiences and observations as inspiration. Performance technique is then incorporated. Rehearsals follow culminating in a mini showcase of student performances.

THEATRE FOR EVERYONE AutismRibbonwhlchr p

(ages 7-18)

In collaboration with VSA-NJ, an organization which provides a wide array of arts programming for children & adults with all types of disabilities, this class will include theatre improvisation, storytelling, music, movement, and some visual art. The series will creatively address and include diverse learning styles and modes of communication. When applicable, a student's attendant, who may be a parent, caregiver, nurse, personal aide, or sign interpreter, is welcome to stay for the class. The course will end with a fun sharing for family and friends. Typical siblings are welcome at no extra cost.
