CLASSES FOR AGES 18 and up

OUR 2011-2012 THEATRE SCHOOL FULL-SESSION IS NOW OPEN FOR ENROLLMENT!

Registration deadline has been extended with limited class availability.

In most cases,FULL-SESSION classes run from September through March, beginning after Labor Day and culminating in a performance or an informal "sharing" for family and friends on the last day of the session. Each season our Full-Session SELLS OUT, so don’t delay in selecting your class! We have class for ages 4 and up, as well as offerings for adults. Select an age group from the Education menu surprise yourself with what you can do!

It is simple to enroll with our easy REGISTRATION FORM! You may fill out the form right on your computer using Adobe Acrobat and email it back to us as an attachment with a credit card payment, or if you prefer to pay by check, you may print out the Fill-In Form or Manual-Form and mail back or drop off your registration at Paper Mill Playhouse.

CLASS LIST

ADULT ACTING

(ages 18 and up)

Whether you are taking your first acting class, looking to polish your presentation skills or seeking more comfort in front of an audience, this class is for you. Working to develop basic acting and communication skills that can be used in any walk of life, this class creates a fun and safe environment for you to explore your creativity.

8 weeks - $310

Saturdays 10:00am - 11:15am


ADULT ACTING II

(ages 18 and up)

A continuation of skills studied in Acting I, basic physical exercises lead to monologue and scene preparation, advancing the actor’s craft.

8 weeks - $310 - January option

Saturdays 10:00am - 11:15am


INTRODUCTION TO VOICE OVER TECHNIQUE

(ages 18 and up)

There is more to becoming a successful voice-over performer than just having a "nice voice"! From commercials to promos, animation to industrials, station ID's to ADR, there is money to be made in the voice-over industry. Using professional studio recording equipment and actual scripts, participants will be introduced to proper microphone technique, diction, cold reads, script analysis, booth etiquette, and the many "tricks of the trade" that will help put you on the path to success as a voice-over actor!

8 weeks - $310

VOICE OVER WORKSHOP II

(ages 18 and up)

ADULT CHORALE

(ages 18 and up)

Members of this company will participate in ensemble singing as they explore the unparalleled world of American popular music. Holiday, contemporary songs, standards and Broadway tunes will be part of the repertoire. Semester will end with a showcase performance.

10 weeks - $99

Mondays 7:30pm - 9:00pm


SENIOR PLAYERS WORKSHOP

(ages 55 and up)

This once-a-week seminar provides seniors with the opportunity to explore and discuss all aspects of theatre performance and production. The group will select a one-act play to use in class and will analyze the script, develop characters, and rehearse the piece for an informal performance at the end of the session.

20 weeks - $285

Tuesday 12:30pm - 2:00pm


BREAKFAST AT PAPER MILL

(ages 55 and up)

Start the week off right with this lively discussion group! You’ll meet new friends and celebrate the joys of theatre each week as a Paper Mill Playhouse staff member or visiting guest artist leads the discussion on a unique aspect of the live theatre experience. Backstage tours and special performances highlight the sessions! A continental breakfast is served.

16 weeks - $10 per week (payable weekly)

Mondays 10:00am - 11:30am


PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS

(ages 18 and up)

Individual attention helps students learn breath control and vocal placement in a nurturing one-to-one environment. Exercises are used to strengthen and protect the voice, and both popular and theatre songs are rehearsed. Lessons are for one half-hour and are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

20 weeks - $875(includes accompanist fee)

Thursday 4:00pm - 9:00pm
