Mark W. Jones (Executive Director) From 1989 through 1992, Mr. Jones was the Director of Planning and Development for Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown , NY -- the nationally-acclaimed company where Mr. Jones was responsible for overall program and administrative planning, annual fund drives, and capital campaigns. During his tenure, he eliminated a multi-million dollar accumulated operating and construction debt, restructured the financial operations, launched a five million dollar capital campaign, recruited new Trustees, and developed a four-year financial plan that ensured the future success of the company.

Between 1980 and 1989, Mr. Jones was the Associate Producing Director for Music Theatre Group, where he worked directly with writers, directors, composers, and singers in the development of new work; expanded the Board of Directors; formed a funding consortium with Minnesota Opera, Playwrights Horizons, and the American Repertory Theater to raise funds for the development of new work; developed long-range plans; and secured six-figure grants from the NEA, Ford Foundation, Philip Morris Companies Inc., AT&T, and Exxon.

Mr. Jones spent 1974-2003 as the Consulting Director for the Friends of the Arts, Inc., in Locust Valley , New York , where he was also the Co-Chief Executive Director in all areas of management and planning. He also spent fifteen years writing grants and managing annual giving for the organization. Along with producing, Mr. Jones developed innovative festivals and presentations of music, dance, jazz, and arts education programs, and he oversaw and advanced the planning for its Tanglewood on Long Island program.

As well as authoring Dancer’s Resource, published in 1999 by Watson-Gutpill Publications, Mr. Jones also served as Editorial Advisor and Contributor on The Management Handbook for Central European Arts Administrators, published in 1995 by the Institute of International Education .

Education, Academic Honors and Scholarships include Rider University , B.A. in Philosophy Honors; Westminster Choir College and The Julliard School; and Graduate School of Business, Stanford University : Certificate in Strategic Leadership. In 1998, Mr. Jones received the prestigious Encore Award from the Arts and Business Council for Excellence in Arts Management. In 2006, Mr. Jones was a Harvard University Fellowship recipient for a one year course in leadership of cultural institutions.

Selected consulting, management, producing, and development work includes the Court Theatre, University of Chicago (1996-97); Columbia University, Graduate Arts Administration Program (1994-99); Shaker Mountain Performing Arts Festival (2002-04); The School of Visual Arts, New York City (1988-93); Shakespeare & Company/Edith Wharton Restoration, Inc. (1979-80; 1985; 1989; 1995-98); Cleveland Ballet (1974-76); Syracuse Symphony (1976-77); Spoleto USA (1978); Kenyon College (1979-83); National Endowment for the Arts/Syracuse Research Corporation (1980-81); Columbus Opera (1987); New Jersey State Opera (1989-90); The Jupiter Symphony (1989); Gregg Smith Singers (1990); New York Grand Opera (1984-85); and Arts International/Institute of International Education (1994-96).

Board positions and volunteer work include: Vice Chairman, Berkshire Visitors Bureau (2006-2007); Treasurer and Executive Committee, Shakespeare Theatre Association of America (2006-2007); Founder and Director, Massachusetts Shakespeare Coalition (2005-2007); Board Member, Executive Committee, and Co-Chair, Manager’s Council, Dance USA (1996-1999); Trustee and Treasurer River Arts Repertory Company, (1993-1999); Board Member, Think Quest/New York, (2004-2006); and Panelist for the National Endowment, New Jersey State Council on the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, and Citizen’s Exchange Council.

Mark S. Hoebee (Artistic Director) joined the artistic team at Paper Mill Playhouse in 2000, was named Associate Artistic Director in 2003, and is currently Paper Mill's Acting Artistic Director. At Paper Mill, Mark has directed productions of Dreamgirls, The Will Rogers Follies starring John Davidson, Victor/Victoria, The King and I, Miss Saigon, Grease, Harold and Maude: The Musical with Estelle Parsons, the highly lauded production of Hello Dolly! starring Tovah Feldshuh, and this season's Romance/Romance. Mark also works closely with Director of Education, Susan Speidel, to create and direct the annual New Voices Concert which is the culmination of Paper Mill's Summer Conservatory Program.

Mark's work as a Director and/or Choreographer has also been seen at theaters all over North America. Highlights include the National Tours of Victor/Victoria starring Grammy Award winner Toni Tennille, Almost Like Being In Love starring Diahann Carroll, Dreamgirls starring Frenchie Davis, and Company. He was awarded Chicago's Joseph Jefferson Award as Best Choreographer for his work on Sweet Charity, and made his choreographic television debut on an episode of CBS' Touched By An Angel starring Carol Burnett, Carol Channing, Tim Conway, and Rita Moreno. Most recently, Mark directed the Actors' Fund Benefit performance of The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway which starred Emily Skinner, Terrence Mann, and Jennifer Hudson.

In addition to Mark's extensive credits as a Director/Choreographer, he performed in more than ten Broadway and National Tour productions and, for many years, served as an Adjunct Professor in the Dance and Theatre Department of his alma mater, Northwestern University. Mark currently sits on the Board of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance.
